A group of Georgia athletes is breaking barriers through adaptive sports, specifically wheelchair basketball. These athletes, supported by BlazeSports, a nonprofit born out of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, play not only for fun and community but also to make a statement. BlazeSports provides adaptive sports opportunities for people with disabilities and veterans, promoting inclusion and personal growth. The athletes, many of whom are the only wheelchair users at their schools, find camaraderie and a sense of belonging through the sport. They emphasize that adaptive sports are gaining recognition and provide them with pride and purpose.
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have significantly reduced the price of their Atlanta mansion amid ongoing financial struggles and attempts to avoid foreclosure. Initially listed at $6 million in October 2023, the price has now dropped to $3.95 million, far below the recent appraisal of $5.5 million. Despite the discount, the mansion, which features luxury amenities like a heated pool and a wine cellar, has not yet sold. The steep price cuts highlight their desperation to sell the property.
The City of Alpharetta is seeking volunteers to help protect local waterways by participating in stream monitoring and cleanup efforts. Volunteers will collect water samples, remove debris, and report on the health of streams. These activities are part of the city's environmental conservation initiatives to ensure clean and healthy waterways. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided.
The Roswell City Council has approved the creation of a new restaurant district to enhance the city's dining options and boost local tourism. The district will encourage the development of diverse eateries and entertainment venues, making Roswell a more attractive destination for residents and visitors alike. This initiative is part of a broader effort to revitalize key areas within the city and promote economic growth.
